Children with Special Needs

Through the over 50 years CKA has been in existence, we have taught many children / students with special needs. Below is a list of some of the special needs we have assisted:

  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Shyness
  • Childhood Obesity
  • Downs Syndrome
  • Hearing Impaired
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Depressed
  • Insecure

Grandmaster Mather’s many years of experience teaching tens of thousands of students, his unique undergraduate, graduate, and post graduate education at Stanford University, including advanced training in motor learning and adapted PE, enables us to integrate adaptive instructional approaches into our programs for students with special needs.

NOTE: We do not offer separate classes for special needs students. They are mainstreamed into our regular classes. As such, to be accepted, a child must be capable of being mainstreamed, of following instructions in a group setting. For those who are not yet ready for this level of integration, or for those who desire additional help, we offer private lessons. If you would like to schedule your child for a free trial class, or book a private lesson, call Anna at 408-263-4044. (She is in her office after 5pm weekdays.)
